Default Quantum computers -with a twist

Pretty soon we'll be building quantum computers who'll have abilities that will dwarf anything that came before. Even the biggest current supercluster will be closer to a clay tablet than to a single quantum computer.

The problem though is that we humans are too dumb to evaluate its results. After all, we're building them to make calculations that no amount of ordinary computers could ever hope to do. The proposed solution is that we'll also have to build dumbed down quantum computers whose results we'll still be able to check and they are then going to check the real quantum computer.

There's something eerily in-or even anti-human in all of this...

Freudian slip? Normally we speak of computers as inanimate objects.

Anyway, I haven't even read the rest of your post yet, I just had to comment on that!

Probably just sloppiness. I'd be the last to credit computers with an IQ. As far as I'm concerned anything without self-awareness and/or sentience doesn't go on the list. These quantum computers have inconceivable calculating powers but that's just speed. Essentially they're as intelligent as a washing machine.
