In case anyone is curious, that's the route of Lenin in 1917, returning from exile in Switzerland back to Russia (via Germany) in order to lead the Russian revolution.

The German government paid for and arranged the trip.

Speaking of Lenin, what do Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, Leon Trotsky, Benito Mussolini, Albert Einstein and James Joyce have in common ?

They each lived in Switzerland for some time.

Geneva?

Btw, I never knew about Mussolini or Joyce - but I did know all the others had sought political assylum in Switzerland.

Perhaps you could have put JJ Rousseau on that same list.

Those five have something in common that's more specific than a city or even a street. They have a building in common.

I guess I better give the answer after 5 months

They all wined and dined in the Grand Café Odeon in Zurich.

LOL, no, not that I'm aware off other than probably Lenin and Trotsky. It's actually not as spectacular as it sounds. Most major European cities have such Grand Cafés that were 'the place to be' for often as long as a century or more. There's one in Brussels that can claim a range from Marx to Einstein.
