![]() Harry Redknapp will almost certainly be the next permanent coach of England.
But the big question is... Who will be coach for Euro 2012??? Will it be Redknapp, even though he's continuing with Tottenham until the end of the season? Or will it be Stuart Pearce?

![]() In a month and a half Euro 2012 kicks off in Poland and Ukraine, and we the public are still none the wiser as to who will lead England out onto the pitch.
But it is almost certain that it will be an Englishman that leads England out, and that will be the first time in a final tournament, since 2000.

![]() A random thought on this topic. One positive thing about bringing in coaches from other countries/regions, is it keeps the game interesting. They bring styles of play with them.
I think that it's pretty fascinating to watch the chess-match of shifting styles. As the south American heavy hitters have picked up on the hard, fast, cut throat Euro style of football so they can take down the Germans and the Brits, they sometimes get a surprise hamstringing from one of the littler SA teams playing the slow dance. Fun stuff.

![]() Today, it is likely that Roy Hodgson (64) will be appointed the England coach.
Roy is English, from Croydon (south London), and he has been enjoying success as a manager since 1976. I think he is a national treasure and will do brilliantly with England. His first test will be in June this year, with the European Championships.

This would indicate that you were right, and I congratulate you, if indeed you were right, this stat isn't conclusive, but it does indicate that you could be right. However, I must point out that some of the foreign-born players grew up in Portugual. Also, the rule is that a player can only represent one country competitively in his/her career, which is a rule that many sports don't have. I'm glad football has that rule. However, I can't deny that your prediction is supported by the above stat. ![]() https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2016_Final

![]() Interim England coach Gareth Southgate has now taken charge of two matches, a win (2-0) at home against Malta, and a draw (0-0) away against Slovenia. Slovenia didn't quality for Euro 2016, and neither did Malta. Southgate's CV is in my opinion, absolutely not good enough for him to be given a contract. Eddie Howe has dpme brilliantly with Bournemouth, taking them up two divisions to the top dicision, in only three seasons. He or Alan Pardew, who took Newcastle to 5th place, and has taken West Ham and Crystal Palace to FA Cup runner-up places are, in my opinion, the best English candidates.
