Default Hockey Junior World Championship

In case anybody here did not know, the Junior World Championship in ice hockey is currently being played here in Russia, in Ufa, Bashkortostan.

Russia's team is going very well so far. Not a single loss yet.

Defeated Slovakia 3-2 on the 26th;
Defeated USA 2-1 on the 28th;
Defeated Germany on the 29th

Their next opponent is their ultimate rival - Canada

They have an interesting team this year.

Goalie Malcolm Subban

is probably the only black player in the whole tournament (unless maybe the US also has a black guy, but I have not seen any yet). Must be a great curiosity for the fine people of UFA who, probably, had never before seen a live black person, except on TV

Good team. Cannot wait for the Russia-Canada game on the 31st.

4 - 1. Good for Canada

Our side's coach was completely clueless. I am surprised the team won the previous games under that "leadership"...

Well, if that's just the round-robin, then Russia and Canada will meet again in the finals.

That being said, Canada does have a bit of a reputation for winning this particular competition with some regularity.

I didn't say they win every one of them. Just that Canada has a reputation for winning it. If you check the records, I think you will find that Canada has won a majority of these tournaments. I doubt if more than a year or two goes by without Canada winning it.
