Default windows 10 anyone?

anyone excited about this. I am now mostly a mac users, but I still have a relatively up to date windows laptop which i use sometimes (like right now). I think that I will update when the new windows comes out. but I feel the mac is so much better.

I used to run ubuntu on my pc, but then i needed windows again for work and got rid of linux. But I find that linux is more exciting than windows.

what do you guys think. Will the new windows stop the decline of microsoft?

Don't look at me - I still run XP.

I learned my lession back with DOS 4 vs DOS 3. New DOS 4 sucked, old DOS 3.3 was bulletproof. Since then, I've learned that using older non-newest operating system has a lot of benefits.

I used Win 98SE for about a dozen years. Win 7 and Win 8 both suck. I'll stick to XP for another few years for sure. Eventually Microsoft will come up with a decent OS for the industry to standardize to - or someone else will.

As for the decline of Microsoft, that is ultimately inevitable. Once you are at the very top, there is only one direction you can go.

I actually prefer windows 8.1 to the older versions of windows. But Mac OS is best.

I guess to each his preference. But windows XP seems too outdated for today.

Works fine for me. And Mac OS is really just UNIX.

Yes indeed. Mac OSX is probably the very best OS they've ever had.

a lot better than windows. And it is great for open source development.

As I've often reminded people, if the very best computer hardware and OS software actually dominated the market, we'd all be running Amiga machines with OS2 Warp.

Amiga is the machine that created most of the innovative hardware techniques that Apple later claimed were their own. They had dual processors back in the 1980's with separate handing of the graphics, years before anyone else did.

OS2 Warp was an operating system created by IBM. It had true multi-tasking ability long before Apple or Microsoft ever created their 'fake' multi-tasking abilities.

In other words, Amiga machines were better than any other desktop computer ten years ahead of its time. Likewise with OS2 Warp.

Bottom line is that the best hardware/software doesn't necessarily win in the market.
